Organized in 1923, the Georgetown First
Church of the Nazarene has over 500 members and averages 230 on
Sunday mornings. The continuing theme is one heart holiness. It
is our belief that one can live a life that is pleasing to God and
attractive to the world. It is our calling as believers to be the
salt and light of the Earth.
It is often said by others that Nazarenes are
serious about their relationship with God. This serious intent
carries over into our love for people. It is our desire that we
mirror God's love by ministering to others through our friendship
and love. Many of our ministries are outward in their focus.
Other programs help nurture those who call Jesus their Savior.
We carry this serious intent into our time of
worship as well. There is a freedom to praise God. There are
opportunities to grow a Christians when we respond to the
preaching of God's Word. There are times of prayer around an
altar. All of these combine to provide the nurture one needs to
grow up in the Lord.
